They don’t make them like #DonAmeche anymore. Every day he worked, you wouldn’t find him holed up in his trailer. He’d be on set, in his chair, reading the newspaper, patiently waiting for camera to be ready. Even as a child, and completely new to the industry, I KNEW he was the embodiment of a true movie star. You could feel it. He was in his 80s, and that charisma that made him the legend he was was still alive and well, shining through his eyes and radiating off of him - as if he were the sun and the rest of us were lucky little planets orbiting around him. Even though he was an Oscar winner and by far the most experienced man on the set, there was no ego. Just complete joy to be there. Generous, patient, kind to every person no matter their title, prepared and professional... His elegance remains unmatched to this day.
