Today's #rolemodelmonday goes to one of NASA's former employees, Katherine G. Johnson, otherwise known as the "human computer". The Katherine G. Johnson Computational Research facility was named in her honor based on her groundbreaking work such as calculating the paths for America's first spaceflights in the 1960's and successfully calculating the trip of astronaut John Glenn's orbital flight. Katherine, now 99 years old, contributes her success at NASA to, "never missing a day [of work], never staying home playing sick and stuff. My problem was to answer questions, and I did that to the best of my ability." Thank you so much Katherine for dedicating so much of your time and efforts to research at NASA; you are an inspiration to women everywhere.
