We’re excited to reveal that we’ll be offering a royal letter relating to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 in our Valuable Books and Manuscripts auction on 13 December in London.

Written on behalf of King James I, the letter orders the estates of Sir Everard Digby, one of the plotters, to be immediately confiscated. Here's a sneak peek – the rest will be revealed nearer the auction.
