@jkomments made the following comments reflecting back on this original post as well “Thanks for sharing @mattmcgorry. I created this post 2 and a half years ago and have read some feedback that I'd like to address. I support the call for greater representation and believe body positive activism should certainly represent a huge diversity of bodies. In more recent posts, I have attempted to focus more on a specific area rather than summarise many areas like this post, to avoid miscommunication or over simplification. The oversimplification and miscommunication is also apparent in the gender non confirming and trans inclusive drawings. I should have included sex worker positive, religious expression positive, the list goes on. I hope to have gained greater awareness of the importance of more diverse representation. I still struggle with that balance in my drawings today, as I attempt to address the many issues confronting our society. I write this to articulate my support and understanding. I am reading and listening. Thank you.” Repost from @jkomments - “And against classism* ▪️"There is no such thing as a single issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives."-Audre Lorde ▪️"Intersectionality is still a relatively new term for the masses - and yet its message is one that surely any feminist can relate to: start listening to and including various groups of women, and their multi-layered facets and experiences of life, and respect them, in the overall debate."-Ava Vidal.
