As far back as I remember, I always loved the song "Africa" by Toto. The rolling groove, the fuck-yes chorus, the approximate-at-best lyrics describing a continent Toto had clearly never visited. I like that kind of chutzpah. It speaks to me. And from day one of #TheMindyProject I've been annoying our cast and crew by playing it on any piano I find, or forcing unwilling souls into amateurish three-part harmonies with me. @ikebarinholtz, in particular, was not a fan. But finally, in our penultimate ever episode, @ミンディ・カリング and @mcwarburton wrote a scene where I RUN. In the RAIN. To TOTO'S AFRICA. It is my favourite thing I have ever done, and I once did a kiss on a lady. Thank you @itsspillertime for directing it so cinematically. I know I have a weird run, mainly because this head of mine is so unwieldy and filled with 80s lyrics. But I know that I must do what's right! As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti.
