I want to tell you a love story, one between two broken souls. After I lost Jazzy to cancer, I was damaged; unable to breathe, sleep, or function normally. We took in another broken soul named BB, hoping to help her while giving me a distraction. I poured all I had into her--training and caring for her and eventually gaining her trust and love in return.
Everyone who met her fell in love. But I had built an emotional wall around me--thick enough to protect me from another heartache. I couldn't allow myself to love her back the way I had hoped for a long time. "One day, my heart would be broken again." It was easier to stay guarded than to let it come down. This way I can remain loyal to Jazzy, too.
But I couldn't deny this familiar feeling growing inside of me anymore. BB made me laugh more and more whenever she came up with her own silly antics, reminding me of the countless happy moments I had with Jazzy. When I look at BB, I feel ❤️ in my heart, where I used to have a gaping hole.

It feels as if I have both of them with me, merged into one body. Because BB, with her own uniqueness, somehow allows Jazzy's memory to stay alive within her. #blessed #whorescuedwho
