This camera was nearly destroyed when its owner, Corporal William T. Perkins Jr., a 20-year-old Marine, threw his body on a grenade to save those around him during the Vietnam War. On loan from the National Museum of the Marine Corps, it is currently on display in our "Americans at War" exhibition. His Medal of Honor is also on display.
