Celebrating 30 years of the Apollo and other Originals, the limited edition collection has been re-edited with subtle embellishments chosen by the original envoy of alternative culture to the mainstream himself. With key features still in tact, such as the corrugated black sole; sharp toe distinctive of a ‘monk shoe’; interlace weaving and the buckle that separates the Apollo from the laces of the #Barfly, Jefferson and our team have skilfully re-edited the Apollo for three decades on.
Photography duo @02gb teamed up with stylist @elliegracecumming Cumming, Fashion Director of Another Man, to present the collection. We can’t get over how perfectly these frames encapsulate the balance between then, now and next. How it perfectly encapsulates everything that Underground is about. The shoot took place in Berlin- and urban underground that overtly remains a city attached to the 80’s – a time of significant shift in it’s history- but again rewires the nostalgia to face fully forward. The city is almost stained with decade- both pian and optimism. This year we celebrate the zeitgeist we opened our doors to- but do so in a way to comprehend the future. For Berlin, decades of unrest and disillusionment in the war torn city allowed it to become a breeding ground for underground movements and cultures. Subcultures are well suited to the streets of Berlin- it’s history demands it. And our history commands it. And what’s more poetic than a shoot in Berlin U-Bahn- literal Underground.
Since 1987, our Original Apollo Creepers have remained a vital component of any and many subcultural uniforms- and this photo series does it great justice. The poetic parallels; the exclusion of gender; the city it captures; the heady, dreamy youth that are constantly searching for more.

The first 80 pairs to be purchased will be accompanied with an exclusive 7 Inch Vinyl, hand picked by Jefferson himself. Summating the soundtrack to the collaboration- the selection boasts tracks from the likes of the Sex Pistols, The Jam and the Happy Mondays.
