But the problem I find (besides trying to get my family to all look at the camera at the same time) is when we buy our tree too early, it dries out before Christmas even arrives! This year I’m being proactive! Here are some tips that I’ll be using that will hopefully keep our tree in tip-top condition! 1️⃣ Be careful transporting your tree home. Try not to break branches or bend the thin part at the top 2️⃣ Select a longer lasting variety to start with. Try to buy as local as possible so that your tree is fresh 3️⃣ Make sure to get your tree right into water when you get home. Make sure the water isn’t too cold or you will shock your tree. 4️⃣ Add nutrients. Your tree needs a sugar source and plenty of water. Add a 2 tablespoons of sugar to your water. Check your water level 1 to 2 times a day as some trees are just thristier then others. When you refill your tree stand with water, make sure it’s warm and include a teaspoon of sugar 5️⃣ Try LED lights as they tend to run less hot 6️⃣ Try using a humidifier in the room to keep the room moist.
