Let’s talk about lightening •Compromised Hair• ☠️ So you have a color correction that comes in and she has extremely fragile hair with a lot of breakage. ? It looks like her previous colorist was overlapping highlights and using a permanent color low light.. the hair has been lifted, deposited on with permanent color, lifted through that again, and repeated every 6-8 weeks over the last 4 years.?There’s bands, stripes, over processed blonde, and the overall color is orange. What do you do? ?
This is where backcombing becomes a necessity! It pushes back the broken, shorter hairs so only the longer, stronger hairs will be lightened. I heavily saturated with @paulmitchellus #Synchrolift + 10 vol to create a lift that’s gentle but also powerful enough to lift through the previous color. After applying the backcomb, I removed the lightener from the ends of the hair and applied @TrionicsHairCare #EnzymeCocktail.? Once everything was ready to be removed, I treated all over with Enzyme Cocktail to balance the pH of the hair, strengthen, and prep for toning. I pretoned using @Joico #ChromeDemi & basemelted + toned with #PaulMitchell The Demi ❤️
