Mahana No Atua (Day of the God) (1894) by Paul Gauguin ? I've always been keen on his fantastic use of colour and his compositions but his exotifying and often sexist portrayal of women (as well as his hushed down relations with underage women on Tahiti) makes it hard for me to truly appreciate his artistry and often makes me reflect on the question if you really can ever seperate the artist from his work. (Anyhow I love this painting and wanted to share it)
