George was raised illegally by someone. She learned to mimic human speech, and flew into @alaskazoo on her own in 2007 and started talking to the keepers right away. She was assessed by Bird Treatment and Learning Centre and deemed unreleasable because she loves people so much. Magpies are illegal to own in Alaska, as well as other corvids, as they are protected species. Please do visit her if you get the chance to at The Alaska Zoo!
