I lost a friend yesterday. Bill Hearn, my label head at Capitol Music. I remember the first time I met him. He smiled at me and talked about how he and the label wanted to serve the vision of God on my life. He was a quiet man but always kind. He was a deep thinker but always had a smile in his eyes. I think ones like him God just decides He’s ready to have their friendship in heaven. He just couldn’t wait any longer. Bill- I bet the sound of worship in heaven is something your blown away by- we’ll miss you here but I know it’s way better there. You leave behind a legacy and I’m inspired by you. Here’s what we’ll do in your honor: we will be a champion of others. I want to be someone that will go out of my way to help people feel seen, loved, accepted, honored, celebrated, cherished, revered. Life is a gift. The people God has brought along our journeys are a gift- they all play a role in it that only they can play. They are irreplaceable. God told Esther, you were born for such a time as this”. That’s a message for all of us- to all of you that I get to do life with who I call friends, who I call family, who I’ve met once or maybe a few times, or those that we feel like friends because social media..I honor you today, I love and appreciate your impact in my life.
