In honor of the recent passing of prolific designer Ivan Chermayeff, five #MoMACollection posters created by his graphic design firm for Pan Am World Airways are now on view on the second floor.

As a principle of the graphic design firm Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv, first established under a different name in 1957, Ivan Chermayeff played an outsize role in the development of the visual vocabulary of post-World War II America. Since its founding 60 years ago, Chermayeff and his team have created trademarks, advertisements, signs, and brand identities for some of the most well-known companies and organizations, including the logo for the Museum of Modern Art. Ivan was a MoMA trustee for over 20 years.
