I’m going to try my best to write this.
On Thursday night Charlie had an accident. We rushed her to the emergency vet and found out she had badly injured her back. She couldn’t use her back legs and she was trembling in pain.
Charlie had to go into spinal surgery on Friday morning. Although the surgery went really well, they found she had ruptured a disc which had caused her spinal cord to swell. They told us that she had a 50/50 chance she would either begin to recover slowly or that her spinal cord would start to ‘melt’ (which means we would have to let her go).
It’s been the most painful 24hrs. The feeling of not knowing is excruciating. To think that 2 completely different outcomes can happen at any moment has broken us to a point I can’t explain.
BUT, this morning we got a call from the surgeon who told us that Charlie had really good feeling in her back legs, a very positive sign ☺️
We aren’t completely out of it yet, but Charlie is fighting ??
I wanted to share this with you because you guys have seen her grow up here. I get messages and comments about her all the time and I know you guys care and love her too ?? She is my shadow, she does EVERYTHING with me (as I know you have seen from my posts and stories), and I love her more than words can explain.
