My auntie Ava Sturridge-Packer CBE who has been Headteacher of St. Mary's C of E Primary School Handsworth Birmingham is taking early retirement from Headship on Friday 22nd December 2017 after 21 years of headship. St Mary's school has been judged by OFSTED as outstanding and I could see why! This morning I attended the celebration assembly that the school has every Monday morning. Parents & carers are invited to this wonderful celebration assembly! I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the children's achievements with them. I handed their certificates to the children and did my celebration dance with them! I also did a waltz with my auntie Ava to the Liverpool anthem ' you'll never walk alone' I loved the children saying their community prayers in their home languages together. There was a muslim, Sikh & Hindu prayer as well as the Lords prayer. It is a true Church of England primary School. Happy retirement as Headteacher Auntie Ava ....The children & staff will miss your talent ,energy, love and commitment Xx
