We were in Texas both visiting family for the holidays. Stevie was in the area for the day "hanging with a buddy" (but really planning this engagement) and told me he was going back to Austin that night but could hangout for a bit. I was having a really hard time at home with my parents (they did not approve of my relationship with Steve at the time and me dating outside of the culture) so seeing him even for a brief moment made my day. We went to dinner with my sisters and I begged him, "plz don't go yet, can we just hang for a few more hours." I hated being away from him ESP with so much drama around me. He said "okay I'll stick around a few more hours." (Little did I know everything was going according to his plan) He suggested we hang out in our old college town in Denton where we first met. I thought we were just getting hot cocoa at the square but as we walked up, I saw a little white table in the middle of the park with a laptop on it that said "open me and press play." I played the video and it was a montage Stevie edited in front of all the places where we had our "firsts". He went to all these locations in that area and started every sentence with, "This is where we had our first...." At the very end of the video he was standing in the spot where we were in that real life moment and said, "And this is where..I'm going to propose to you." I busted out into tears. He got down on one knee, said the sweetest speech, and then presented me with the most gorgeous ring asking me to be his wife. One thing he said was that I'll never have to go home without him again. I was so happy/emotional/shocked that I actually responded by hitting him and saying OMG SHUT UP before finally saying "YES" to his proposal. Ha! I love you @stevie_hendrix. You were worth every risk & now we have a beautiful daughter because of it. My family loves you so much and I'm excited we're all spending Christmas together in LA this year!
