Wishing all of you a day of peace, joy, merriment & goodwill. As the excitement subsided a bit from the hubbub and glee of my son unwrapping surprises, I thought of another list, not just for today but for all days. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

1) Thankfulness: for health, family, friends, daily necessities & being able to experience beautiful moments. And the ability to dream.
2) Forgiveness: to lay to rest hurts & release others from it even if boundaries need to stay in tact or doors remain closed.
3) Grace: to give to friends & family when conflict happens, to resist gossip & to choose to see the good in others instead of the opposite.
4) Kindness: to practice this when it’s the hardest instead of stinging back those who have stung. To remember to extend this to one’s self too.
5) Joy: to unapologetically embrace all the aspects of the heart, what brings delight & life itself.
6) Generosity: to share blessings with others & remember those who have extended the same to me.
7) Patience: with others, with myself & with the process of growing, learning & living. And also in traffic.
8) Love: to choose this as much as possible & to remember that the softest heart is the strongest one.

This year has been a full ride with wonderful highlights & new experiences, beautiful moments, scary moments, hard lessons and deep hurts. But in all of it, I’m learning more about what it means to allow the heart to stay soft, to keep its wonder alive, to let hidden areas where it’s grown hard walls to be chiseled & melted away and to open myself more to love. Thank you all for being bright reminders and gifting me your time, kind words and cheer in this little space here. I hope that 2018 brings each of you the best of moments and blessings and memories to be made. ❤️
