Your new position statement on declawing says, "Legislation to make declawing illegal, while well-intentioned, can be problematic, because, in rare cases, the procedure may be justifiable as a last resort to prevent euthanasia. There is also no meaningful way to enforce a law that includes this exception." ?
Please stop making and changing your excuses as to why you will not support anti-declawing legislation.
Your organization is all about protecting animals and ending animal cruelty! ??❤️
According to a peer reviewed story in 2011 in the NAVC Clinician's Brief, around 14.4 million cats and kittens are declawed in America each year. That is around 38,000 cats a DAY who are inhumanely having their toe bones amputated. Declawing is a billion dollar business in America! ????Many declawing vets like this one don't give pain meds for their declawed kitties. ??
It's time that you join us and help end this cat cruelty and abuse.
You do really great things for animals but it's sad that you won't support legislation that is good for cats but bad for the pocketbooks of declawing veterinarians like this one.
