[WARNING: sorry to our young fans but we have to do this PSA. It’s about to get REAL NASTY] LISTEN, DOG OWNERS. WHEN YOUR 60+ POUND DOG BITES WINSTON BY THE NECK AND IS NOT LETTING GO FOR 15 SECONDS (to us it felt like forever), AND WINSTON IS CRYING LIKE CRAZY FOR HELP, IT IS A DOG ATTACK. “She usually doesn’t bite.” IT DOESN’T MATTER IF SHE “USUALLY” DOESN’T BITE. I DIDN’T KNOW YOU BEFORE I WAS SCRAMBLING TO PULL YOUR MASSIVE DOG OFF OF MY CRYING DOG. “She’s not the one that attacked him.” IF YOU WEREN’T BUSY CHIT-CHATTING 200 FEET BEHIND YOUR DOG, MAYBE YOU WOULD’VE SEEN THAT WINSTON AND YOUR DOG WERE STANDING NEAR OTHER, WINSTON SNIFFED UPWARD AND YOUR DOG LITERALLY PLUNGED FOR HIS NECK. MAYBE YOU WOULD’VE SEEN IT IF YOU WERE THERE WELL BEFORE WE GOT A HOLD OF YOUR DOG, I REPEATEDLY ASKED WHO IS THE OWNER OF THIS DOG AND THE 10+ PEOPLE WITNESSING THIS ALL SHOOK THEIR HEADS AND SAID IT’S NOT MY DOG. “Well he’s not bleeding, is he?” SO IF ANOTHER KID HIT YOUR KID AND HE/SHE WASN’T BRUISED OR BLEEDING, THAT WOULDN’T PISS YOU OFF?!!!?! IT DOESN’T MATTER THAT WINSTON WAS NOT BLEEDING. THANK GOD HE WASN’T, AND WE DIDNT HAVE TO SHUTTLE HIM TO THE EMERGENCY VET. WINSTON WAS CRYING, A FISTFUL OF FUR CAME OFF OF HIS NECK, AND HE WAS TERRIFIED. I AM HONESTLY ANNOYED AT YOUR TIRED ASS EXCUSES. We get it. Things happen. Your dog attacked mine. BUT YOU STRAIGHT UP DON’T APOLOGIZE, AND GET MAD AT US FOR SAYING SOMETHING???? SHAME. ON. YOU. You HAVE to know that that’s (not apologizing) not right. YOU HAVE A HUMAN BABY ON YOU, BUT YOU ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR FUR BABY. YOUR FUR BABY THAT ATTACKED WINSTON. DOGS REFLECT THE CHARACTER OF THEIR OWNERS. HOW DARE YOU WALK AWAY, UNAPOLOGETIC. I WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WINSTON. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR DOG. LET IT BE KNOWN. (Regarding Winston, he was shaking and terrified right after but we are doing our best to socialize him with the bigger, nice dogs on the beach so that he doesn’t leave feeling scared from the beach. He’s playing again, and he is smiling. Winston loves this place, and he is a resilient, strong pup. We are still a bit shaken up, and we had to say something.)
