In honor of this milestone, National Geographic, the National Audubon Society, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and BirdLife International will join forces with more than 100 other organizations and millions of people around the world to celebrate 2018 as the "Year of the Bird." I am greatly honored to have been a part of this wonderful celebration. This past summer I was on assignment for Nat Geo photographing a story on bird migration. While soaring above one of the world’s largest flamingo populations, the migration forms a majestic natural tapestry against the unique volcanic region that is Lake Bogoria. The lake is home at times to one of the worlds largest populations of lesser Flamingos. I am very excited that this work will appear in the March issue of National Geographic and my Day to Night photographs from this assignment will be exhibited at the National Geographic Museum in February.
