#feministflashbackfriday | Even after mastering the techniques, #JudyChicago’s china painting process in #TheDinnerParty was one of trial and error. Chicago would lay on layer after layer of paint, overlapping different hues to achieve the desired effect. Plates would even be painted and fired multiple times to intensify their color; sometimes, plates would crack or shatter when fired between paint layers in the kiln. #dinnerpartyroots⠀
