僕が監修している高島屋の「スタイル オーダーサロン」。そのオーダースーツ用の生地を買い付けに、ミラノから約1時間ぐらいのビエラ地区にあるイタリア🇮🇹最高峰の服地メーカー「CARLO BARBERA（カルロ・バルベラ）」社に行って来ました。僕の隣に写っているのが３代目社長のコラード・バルベラさんです。とってもエレガントで素敵でしょ。なんか懐かし感じがして、誰かに似てるなぁと思ったら……、そう！稀代の洒落者として名を馳せるルチアーノ・バルベラさんの息子さんでした。いや〜、実は10年ぐらい前。ミラノにあるルチアーノ・バルベラのお店でお父様にお会いしていまして……。その時、お店に入るなり「あなたには、このポケットチーフが似合いますよ。ほら！」って、ネイビー地にブラウンのドット柄のカシミアのポケットチーフを一瞬で選んでくれて、胸ポケットにふわっと入れてくれたんです。普通のポケットチーフは持っていましたが、カシミア素材のものは、胸元になんとも言えない優雅な表情が出るので感激した思い出があります。いやぁ、イタリア🇮🇹って、こういう出会いがあるんですよね。また、イタリア🇮🇹が好きになりました。カルロ・バルベラの取材の模様は、近日『FORZA』の動画でお届けしますので乞うご期待下さい。
