This magnificent 14th century Italian gold-ground of the Madonna and Child was painted by Florentine artist Agnolo Gaddi. The son of Taddeo Gaddi, a pupil of #Giotto, Agnolo is celebrated as one of the last major artists stylistically influenced by the Florentine master. See it on view in our #NYC when #SothebysMasters Week exhibitions open on 26 January.
