It was a stressful morning for the little Swamp Wallaby found by NSW Police on the Harbour Bridge today. We wanted to thank everyone for their care and concern for the animal, and we are pleased to report he is in a stable condition at our Wildlife Hospital in Sydney. "At this stage, it doesn't appear to have any serious injuries, however, it will be carefully assessed over the next 24-48 hours," says Taronga's Senior Veterinarian Dr Larry Vogelnest. "As with all wildlife brought into our care, our hope is that the wallaby will be able to be released back into the wild. An assessment will be made on the best location for this release in due course.” The Taronga Wildlife Hospitals receive more than 1300 animals every year.
