Video by @Joel Sartore | This highly muscular and robust amphibian is known as a Cameroon slippery frog. They are extremely adaptable and live in very cold, fast flowing streams. They do not require tree cover and can even be found living in some urban areas. Because this frog is truly gigantic, measuring up to 9 inches (25 cm) in length, they are often hunted for their meat. Due to this kind of overharvesting as well as habitat fragmentation in Cameroon and Nigeria, this frog is currently listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
