4 years ago yesterday I caught a newborn, held her up and said, “I have no idea who you are... I’ve never met you before!” Which might sound odd, except that with my previous two kids I’d felt instant familiarity. But this one? This one is my wild card. My free spirit. My always surprising, magical little creature who has me so wrapped and melted and in love and laughing and wondering how I ever survived 36 years without her. Stay you, kiddo.
