We fall down. We get up. It’s as true in life as it is on the ice. I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of the @figureskatingindetroit community & to help spread that message to the youth of Detroit. ⛸ In my 26 years on the ice, the most important lessons I’ve learned are that I DO have value & that I AM capable. Empowerment, self-belief, perseverance & hope have all been a part of my own, personal journey on the ice. Indeed, every young woman deserves the opportunity to see herself as she truly is: strong. valuable. capable. I have learned that, alone, we are enough...but together, we are so much more. Here’s to a bright future for this incredible program & to the strong young ladies of Detroit. May your lights shine! ?
