One of the best parts of my job is to visit places that have actually been protected and where all the elements of a healthy ecosystem are still thriving, especially the top predators. This is getting increasingly rare, so it was with great joy that I spent time with these sharks in the beautiful Gardens of the Queen reef, an area that has been protected for over 20 years. The results speak for themselves and are a hopeful reminder of what can be accomplished if we commit to protecting the ocean.
