The @ニューヨーク・タイムズ has published a preview of our #2018triennial, #SongsForSabotage, and it includes the story behind this work by Haroon Gunn-Salie (@gunn_salie). The artist "consulted with the widows and survivors of the 2012 Marikana massacre in South Africa to create a sculpture and sound installation memorializing the 34 miners killed by police as the workers were attempting to peacefully disperse after a weeklong strike." “It’s almost like a graveyard,” said Gunn-Salie.
See it when the exhibition opens on February 13. Learn more at our link in bio.
