"I came to Ouray, Colorado with a group of friends, all rock climbers. It was the first time any of us had ever ice climbed. On my first route of the day, I was quickly introduced to this sudden pain in my hands as they rewarmed themselves; the “Screaming Barrfies” as my friends called them. I had been a rock climber for a few years prior to my first ice climb, so I was accustomed to getting pumped, but the pump I got from holding onto a straight shaft ice tool, while your hands are numb, was a pump I have never felt. I was hooked and have continued to love the challenge the ice climbing brings me." - @mgclimber1
