Today marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, which granted some women the right to vote for the first time in British parliamentary elections.
British feminist and political leader Millicent Fawcett (1847–1929) is known for her tireless campaigning for women to have the vote. Her portrait is on display at Tate Britain from today as a celebration of the historic victory which set us on course for equal rights. #vote100 #100years
