wabi sabi 侘寂 open your ♥️ heart to the acceptance of imperfection. what we may deem as “perfection” is transient. beauty is constantly fleeting, one must learn to accept this, in order to be at peace. In chapter two, I wrote on the acceptance of fleeting imperfection, I wrote on my childhood, heritage + the Japanese tradition of Wabi Sabi (the historically prized Japanese practice of embracing imperfection). And as I sit back at my desk this am to write on this topic for a new assignment @girlboss, I can’t help but think of how we, as a society define + judge others based on their appearance, their social status + their marital status. My sister and I (we are both entrepreneurs) have often spoken on how different the world would be if we shifted the thought of beauty towards character, wisdom & integrity, heart vs adoring others for their beauty, money & power. Think of someone special who has taught you a great lesson today, look at wisdom, look at the kind human heart as beauty. Do not compare yourself to others, it is, Wabi Sabi, constantly fleeting to do that to oneself. Use this time today, to self-accept, reflect inward & understand we are all going to age. What will you take with you when you leave? The impermanence of beauty will leave us all & as my Japanese mother always told me, it is better to accept, life will always be easier that way. The pathos of life will never be perfect, so turn your heart away from vanity & appreciate what you and others have to offer, from your ♥️ heart. . #loveislove #lovethyself #galentines #yogavibes #yogajourney #namastebitches #namaste #hapa #hapagirl #travelwriter #iamwellandgood
