Fun fact: Valentine’s Day was probably created to replace a pagan festival then was given a PR spin by Chaucer before it morphed into the current 24 hours of selling overpriced chocolate and making single people feel bad about themselves. But I have to say honestly I feel happier to be single right now than ever before. I have freedom, opportunity, incredible friends and time to focus on my work and travel and as cliche/ LA as it sounds genuinely practice some self love (not that kind... mainly a lot of Korean face masks). A wise person/ instagram poet once said when you feel lonely you need to love yourself and I think that’s truer than ever. The time in between relationships is so important for you to grow and rediscover yourself, try new things and meet new people, cut your hair off, move countries, take piano lessons... whatever it is you were putting off in the name of another Netflix box set. So guess I’m just saying to anyone feeling negative on this day instead cherish this time, it’s really very powerful.
