An iceberg found near Port Charcot in an area of shallow waters around the island commonly known as "the iceberg graveyard". This iceberg could have been thousands of years in the making, starting as ambitious snowflakes that condense into ice over time, then flowing along glacial rivers of ice. Once the icebergs calve from the glaciers they can get forced into these waters by the wind and currents, and remain trapped and grounded until they break up or eventually melt.
