Vegetation can quickly become impenetrable in such wet, high nutrient areas. The large bulk of elephants and hippos continually create trails across the landscape giving access to food and water to numerous other species. This also prevents channels from becoming clogged with silt and vegetation and effectively keeps the Delta flowing. #ecosystemdrivers #elephanttrails #Okavango
