Well my friends. Here’s a new page on Facebook was brought to my attention after THEY came on my page & called me a BULLY. ?? They said that I am attacking humane societies & shelters, that I create hate & spread it across the nation, that cats that are too old to declaw wait in cages for months waiting to be adopted when a declawed cat gets adopted in days or even weeks and they would rather see cats be in a loving home than in a cage. #WTH ? They say that YOU are bullying & attacking @houstonhumane by making comments like, “do not declaw cats” & “please stop declawing cats” on their Instagram page. ? They say that the problem with declawing are the vets who don’t do it right & that you shouldn’t be able to notice a cat is declawed by looking at their paws. ? Thanks to a tip from a supporter, I know who created this page. We MUST keep educating the public about declawing. No matter how a cat is declawed, it ALWAYS harms the health and well-being of a cat or kitten long term. Just because a declawed cat’s paws might look ok, doesn’t mean that they aren’t going to suffer for the rest of their lives in some way from having 10-20 of their toe bones amputated for goodness sakes! As I’ve ALWAYS asked from DAY 1, please be respectful & educational with your comments. The person who created this page is showing us what willful ignorance looks like when it comes to declawing. Let’s be compassionate to this person & their 4 followers. They were born with hearts & brains so I think with gentle words we can inspire them to get out of their antiquated opinions about declawing & join the modern world and help us educate the public in their area about why they shouldn’t amputate the 10 toe bones on their kitties and how easy the humane alternatives are. ???❤️ Please remember, when you are rude or threatening, it is wrong, it hurts the cause, and it hurts me because they often blame your mean comments on me.
