I stand on a stage and I speak from my heart, I wrote a book and I spoke my truth and every time I do these things I wonder “are other women feeling the way I’m feeling? Will other women tear me down because I’m not the exact feminist they would be?Am I going to be understood?” And the answer is yes and no to all of it. And this morning I learned other women had the same thoughts. I had the honor of spending the morning listening to intelligent, serious, informed, inclusive and loving messages from @チェルシー・ハンドラー @senatorboxer @padmalakshmi @アンバー・タンブリン @elainewelteroth @constancewu at the @emilys_list event.
We all have so much in common and the message is NEVER MAN HATING it is about wanting to be heard, included, not written off for our looks, gender or color. This was so wonderful to be in a room of future senators, congresswomen, VPs, Execs etc. Just knowing the power in numbers and the fact that we need men for feminism and equality to work is so important. Thank you for inviting me to the table @pbernon and thank you to all of these woman.
