Liquid light, spilling upon a young boy wearing a songkok before a dripping candy lit warung in Central Sumatra, Indonesia. This photograph was from the @ナショナルジオグラフィック story, Pirates of The Malacca Straits. What I remember most was how kind this gentle fellow was. Our encounter being brief, he hopped off the equally vibrant orange chairs, smiled, briefly turning to look for his friends before running off to play, living in a comic book of colors, the playground of his youth.
