it’s #WomensHistoryMonth ??. as your resident “not a historian but I play one on tv” & also in anticipation of the March 11th #Timeless premiere I’ll be shining a light on various #herstory #historical trailblazers all month long... ?

First up: this is my mother Lydia Spencer at 17 in 1969. The most important HERstorical figure in my life. Unlike Lucy, my mother is not trying to get me to join an evil organization through time. But our relationship, like most mother/daughters is lovingly complicated. I deeply look up to and respect my mother. She graduated salutatorian of her class. Majored in the symphonic stand up bass (an instrument typically played by men.) Traveled as the only female in a singing group called “The Watchmen”. Fixed everything in our house growing up. Made my clothes, furniture & history #HERstory since 1952. #tbt
