As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we take a moment to honour the incredible and trailblazing women who build each other up as they collaborate and support, in an effort to provoke change rather than competition. We are so thrilled to see two brilliant #pgmuses come together in partnership to produce and act in Celeste Ng’s bestseller “Little Fires Everywhere.” For the past 5 years, @リース・ウィザースプーン has been working vigorously to create and tell a diverse range of female driven stories in Hollywood. “I can’t imagine how hard it is to write your own parts and simultaneously have to change people’s perceptions of what a woman of color is in today’s society,” she tells Glamour.
Likewise, @ケリー・ワシントン recognizes the importance of having an open dialogue that challenges intersectionality in today’s society. “I believe strongly in the importance of having a seat at the table, which makes starting this production company thrilling for me. It’s an honor to be at a point in my career when I can help generate projects that are exciting, necessary and truly reflect the world around us,” she explains to Vanity Fair.
