The rain stopped briefly to reveal this view of Dusky Sound from our helicopter. There are no roads in its 10,000 square kilometers of pristine wilderness, accessible only by boat or by air. On assignment for The Nature Conservancy’s Asia Pacific council, here to learn about the New Zealand Department of Conservation management of endangered species such as the flightless Takahe.
