This is what I call starting Monday right. Though to be honest I wouldn’t mind a weekend rewind because it was just so very nice. We didn’t do anything particularly unusual or stand out but what a wonderful difference it made to completely turn the phone off for hours at a time. Isn’t it interesting how we can make ourselves so immediately accessible to the world inside our phone and make those right in front of us wait on us and it’s become a novelty to make the world inside our phone wait a little longer so that those right in front of us can have our full presence first? This has been something I’ve been more intentional about reversing this year. It can be a challenge when work is dependent on computers and devices or when you factor in family and loved ones who are geographically far away but nonetheless overall it has been transformational in the quality of time that is shared in the here and now. It’s not a new concept in theory but an impactful one when practiced. So here’s to giving yourself permission to make new choices, change up routines and plans, and living out your priorities unapologetically. And here’s to a beautiful week ahead!
