Adorable and arboreal! The red panda is arboreal, meaning most of their time is spent in trees. Despite its name, it’s not closely related to the panda – they’re in their own family called ailuridae. But like the giant panda, they eat a lot of bamboo! It makes up around 90% of their diet. Another similar trait with the panda – it has an enlarged wrist bone that acts kind of like a thumb which makes grasping bamboo easier.
