Photo by @Tim Laman. Deep in the interior of Borneo, we trekked into the forest with local porters who preferred their traditional rattan backpacks with head straps. Pretty cool to see this functional low-tech gear made from forest products. They loaded up gear, including our tripod bags across the top with our Gitzo tripods, and off we went, searching for the elusive Helmeted Hornbills. As long as there is still good forest, there is hope for these birds.
