34 years later & it still haunts me. Sunday April 1st 1984 was so cruel man. It took a good 6 hours before anyone believed this wasn’t a hoax. Quietest church Sunday dinner ever. ALL my aunts were disheveled at the table. I was 13, & seen a few celeb deaths (Elvis, Donny, Minnie) but I never seen a celeb make someone cry that I knew. Like crying as if they were family crying. None of his album covers were the same for me afterwards. So eerie. My obsession about his life & work began this day too. He was the master.
