The scheduled launch of @SpaceX’s #Dragon will carry about 5,800 pounds of science and research, crew supplies and vehicle hardware to the orbital laboratory and its six crew members. Scientists from around the world have been working day and night in labs at Kennedy Space Center’s Space Station Processing Facility, preparing their research to be loaded just before the launch. Seen here: Scientists worked through the night to prepare and load bioreactors for the InVitroBone investigation. This @ESA experiment looks at bone loss in microgravity, and seeks to develop stronger countermeasures for astronauts. It could also have applications for osteoporosis patients on Earth. InVitroBone is an example of strong international collaboration: it includes scientists from Italy and France, utilizes Canadian hardware, and will be launching on an American cargo vehicle.
