Through the process of preparing for #JesusChristSuperstar, themes of opportunity and redemption have been at the forefront of my mind. I’ve seen what happens when we punish and let fear drive how we treat ourselves and each other. I’ve also seen what happens when we invest in people, when we support and rehabilitate. We build healthy and strong communities, ones where we can learn, grow and be our best selves individually and as a society. If we as a society are willing to stop punishing so much and instead invest in education, in treatment, in counseling, in fighting poverty, we can break the cycles of victimization that tear us apart. We can create the kinds of communities where ALL people can flourish. #FREEAMERICA
