Last weekend @kellycalvillo took us on a trip through the Krabi Islands. Scroll to the left and check out her story below on spending a month in Thailand ?? On month two of my 12-month across the world adventure, I thought there was no better place to be than in Chiang Mai, Thailand. There’s places in this world that have reminiscences of home, or are similar to where your from. For someone who has been to Thailand before I thought.. “What if Northern Thailand could be that place? There’s mountains, so it might be.” After spending a month in Chiang Mai, I realized I was completely wrong. I come from Colorado, where the mountain lifestyle is as thick as the line of mountain ranges… but here in Chiang Mai, their mountains are just for scenery. I discovered there’s an essence of Thai culture, aesthetic coffee shops, constant scooters, and spicy Thai cuisine. From the infamous saying in Thailand.. Same same, but different. I find myself just as cozy with a latte in local coffee shop just as I did in Denver. I also find myself driving my scooter like I would drive my 4x4 through the mountains, wind in my hair and music turned up high. Although I’ve realized I’m eating just as much noodles as I did at home (A.K.A. as much as possible). It’s just in a completely different way. Although I don’t find much of home here in Chiang Mai, all I can say is.. Different should always come above the same. When you have the chance, I hope you choose the different. And not just in Thailand.
