本日は、PORTER flagship storeにて展開中の写真集の中から、ロバート・フランクの「The Americans」をご紹介いたします。スイスに生まれ、アメリカへと渡った写真家のロバート・フランク。彼は、カメラ機材と真新しいフィルムを携え、グッゲンハイム財団の奨学金を受けて1955年～56年にかけてアメリカ中を駆け巡りました。この撮影紀行から持ち帰った写真の数々は当時のアメリカを忠実に描写し、その後辿ることになる道を暗示しています。80枚以上の写真は1ページに1枚ずつ配され、キャプションに関する情報は巻末に記載されており、写真集を見る人がイメージを自由に膨らませることが出来るようになっています。

Today, Robert Frank 's' The Americans' will be introduced from among photo collections being developed at PORTER flagship store. Photographer Robert Frank who was born in Switzerland and went to the USA. He brought in camera equipment and a brand - new film and ran around the United States between 1955 and 1955 with the scholarship of the Guggenheim Foundation. A lot of photographs brought back from this photograph traveling depict faithfully the United States of the time and imply a way to follow. More than 80 photos are arranged one page at a time, information on captions is stated at the end of the book, so that people viewing the photo collection can expand the image freely.
